App: Durus · Effective date: July 10, 2026 · Contact: rjbachtold@gmail.com
Durus is a personal training app. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data. The short version: Durus does not collect your data, because Durus has no servers. Everything you enter stays on your device unless you personally choose to back it up to your own cloud account.
Nothing is sent to us. We operate no servers and have no ability to see, receive, sell, or share your information. Your profile, workouts, logged sets, body-weight entries, and run history are stored locally on your device (in the app's on-device storage) and never leave it unless you export them or turn on optional backup.
If you use the run tracker, the app reads your device's GPS location to measure your distance, pace, and route. This happens entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us. Your route is drawn using map images loaded from OpenStreetMap; only the map tiles for the area you are viewing are requested, and no identifying information is attached. Location access is only active while you are tracking a run, and you can deny or revoke it at any time in your device settings.
You may optionally connect your own Google Drive, or (on supported devices) use Apple iCloud, to back up your data across your devices. When you do this, your data is stored in your account, under your control. We never receive access to it. You can disconnect at any time. If you do not enable backup, your data lives only on the current device.
Durus contains no third-party analytics, no advertising, and no tracking technologies. We do not build profiles, we do not use cookies for tracking, and we do not share anything with data brokers.
Durus is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because we collect nothing, no personal data of any user is gathered.
Because all data is on your device, you are in full control. You can export a backup file, import it onto another device, or erase everything from within the app's settings at any time. Deleting the app removes its on-device data.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
